This film's plot is so simple, and yet, so BRILLIANTLY written and executed, that it takes all your doubt away from how ridiculous it might seem at first. Why? Because it has a purpose! In this film, John Wick (played by Keanu Reeves (Neo from The Matrix trilogy, Street Kings, The Day The Earth Stood Still (2008 Remake,), and Speed,), is an ex-hitman, who after a couple years of retiring with his wife, finds out one day his wife has cancer. She tragically dies, but, a couple hours later, Wick receives a package in the mail. A VERY cute, little puppet that his wife bought for him right before she died, so he can someone to keep him company after she dies. He happily keeps the puppy, but, a few hours later, a few men working for his old boss(one of them being the boss' son,), invade his house, not knowing who HE is, steal his 1969 Ford Mustang, and kill the innocent puppy. This deeply angers John, and sets him off into a fiery, anger-filled, revenge-seeking rage. He now wants to track down each and every gang member down related to the incident, and seek his revenge by killing every single one.

Keanu Reeves does a FLAWLESS job as John Wick. I know most of his fans consider Neo to be his best role, but honestly, I think this is my favorite Keanu Reeves role of ALL TIME! Yeah, he's even better than Neo. Yeah, I said it. First off, it appears everyone either knows John, or is deeply afraid of him, due t how he was the best in the business. As the main villain in the movie, Viggo, says, "It's not what you did, it's WHO you did it TO." And boy, is John PISSED OFF in this movie. His revenge-filled rage is brought out so well by Reeves, both physically, and mentally. His emotional scenes where his grieving over his wife are so well acted as well, Reeves SHOULD win an Oscar, even if its for just those scenes alone. You REALLY do feel sorry for this guy. And you root for him after each gang member he tracks down and kills. But, the one element you love about this movie, and the one thing you love most about this character is that EVERYONE in this movie knows WHO he is, and they're all DEEPLY terrified of him.

Willem Dafoe(Green Goblin from Spider-Man (2002,), as Marcus, a veteran hit man John's best friend, is also another EXCELLENT character! Willem Dafoe, if I haven't already said, is an AMAZING character. In fact, he is even hired by Viggo to kill John, but can't kill his best friend, so instead, he helps John kill the gang members, mostly by sniping the from rooftops, so as not to attract attention. Dafoe needs tom do more action movies like this. These kinds of movies are where Dafoe SHINES! He is a GREAT character, portrayed flawlessly by an AWESOME actor. Michael Nyqvist(the main villain from Mission Impossible IV: Ghost Protocol,), plays Viggo Tarasov, head of the New York Russian crime syndicate and the film's main antagonist. He is a GREAT VILLAIN! Most of his praise is not just because of how well his character is portrayed by Nyqvist, but because of how afraid Viggo is of John. He knows John Wick is the most dangerous man alive, and knows what his son did will bring NEVERENDING amounts of consequences. And boy, does his son's actions do JUST THAT!! Alfie Allen as Iosef Tarasov, Viggo's son and the film's secondary antagonist, who murders John's dog, and steals his car, is, well, an ok character. I love how everyone in theism ovie is afraid of John, including him, but I am just put off a little by his acting. He switches between Russian and English frequently when speaking, that it almost becomes sporadic, and annoying. And, his acting isn't that good. Dean Winters(Mayhem from the AllState commercials, who would purposely hurt himself in them,), plays Avi, Viggo's second-in-command. He is acted pretty well, and is a cool character. The only thing I don't like is that his guy ALWAYS questions something every 5 minutes, either just cause he doesn't understand Viggo's Russian speaking, or, he just doesn't know what is going on. And honestly, it gets VERY annoying, VERY fast. Luckily, he doesn't appear THAT much for me to have a problem directly with the movie itself.

Ian McShane (Ty Lung from Kung Fu Panda, Black Beard from Pirates of The Carribean 4: On Stranger Tides,), plays Winston, another one of John's friends, and owner of the Continential Hotel. Ian McShane, if I also haven't stated already, is ALSO another AWESOME actor. First off, the man;s voice is BADASS! So deadly, and yet, so elegant, as well. And, all his characters OWN the scenes they act in. His characters personality is so cool, and so AWESOME as well. Adrianne Palicki(Lady Jaye from G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation,), plays Ms. Perkins, another assassin and former acquaintance of John. She now works for Viggo as a hired assassin. Honestly, I think this is the one character I actually hate in this movie. Palicki's acting SUCKS in this movie, and her character has that stupid character trait where she thinks she's the best assassin ever. IE, overly pompous. I loved her as Lady Jaye, but here, her acting just doesn't fit this character. NOT AT ALL. Sorry. Luckily, she doesn't appear THAT much for me to have a problem directly with the movie itself. Bridget Moynahan(from I Robot,), as Helen Wick, John's wife, is an EXCELLENT character. You really feel a genuine loving connection between her, and John, and the movie only shows her in brief videos on John's iPhone. And to see Reeves passionately and tragically act out John's sadness is the biggest connection there. Now that's deep.

John Leguizamo(Sid from the Ice Age series,), as Aureilo, owner of a car shop, friend to John, and employee of Viggo. When Viggo's son ruins John's life, he too is afraid of the consequences, and does everything he can to help John out against Viggo, much like Dafoe. Lance Reddick as Charon, manager of the Continential Hotel, is also a funny character. He doesn't appear that often, but when he does, and sees John check in to the hotel, all bloody, and covered, is hilarious! Part of the humor comes from the fact that he ALSO is a longtime friend of John, and often sees him check into this hotel. And he sees John's wounds and injuries as nothing serious, so as not to attract any unnecessary attention. David Patrick Kelly as Charlie, The Cleaner, is ONE OF THE COOLEST CHARACTERS IN THSI MOVIE! First off, his hat is awesome! Heck, his entire clothing style is SOO SUAVE! He wears a white shirt with a black vest on top, and it looks so badass on him. He is another of John's close friends, and isn orally hired by either John or Winston, to pick up any dead bodies of the Russian gangsters left mostly from John killing all of them. Clarke Peters as Harry, is also a cool character. He is also a retired hit man like John, and is another one of John's close friends. He is a cool character, is acted pretty well, and even tries to help John kill Ms. Perkins when she invades John's hotel room. Thomas Sadoski as Jimmy, is also a funny character. He is a police officer, another one of John's friends, who comes for 2 seconds to investigate a noise complaint(it was John killing some guys Viggo sent back to his house to kill him after the first home invasion,), andy is reaction is priceless. He only appears for 1 scene, but his reaction, and he KNOWS what John did, is hilarious!

The music by Tyler Bates & Joel J. Richard is pretty good. Their music is pretty nice and companioning to the film itself. However, the REAL talent behind the soundtrack, is the band Le Castle Vania. They provide 4 instrumental songs, that are used during key fight scenes for the film's score, such as the bar fight, or the club chase scene. AND THEIR MUSIC IS THE EBST PART OF THIS MOVIE'S ACTION! Their songs highlight the action SO WELL, blend in FLAWLESSLY, and just sound AWESOME to the ears.

The directing by Chad Stahelski & David Leitch(David and Keanu previously worked together for the Matrix trilogy, because David was Keanu's stunt coordinator for those 3 movies,), who makes his directorial debut with this movie, DOES A FLAWLESS JOB HERE!!! He really makes us understand the emotional struggle John goes through, Keanu Reeves gives us his BEST, most compelling performance EVER, the action is FLAWLESS and is the highlight of the film(as Keanu Reeves says in an interview: "they know action and literature really really really really well!,), the rest of the cast, for the most part, do A FLAWLESS job as well, the story is easy to relate to and understand, and the movie's pacing and suspense ,along with great intensity, help make this movie the 2nd best action movie of the year! This is also (next of First Blood,), the most REALISTIC, believable action movie ever made! Every scene in this movie is so clear, and so easy to tell what is going on. Every movement in this movie is brilliantly captured on camera. DEFINITELY GO SEE THIS MOVIE WHEN YOU GET THE CHANCE! IT IS AN ABSOLUTE MUSTTTTTTTTTTTTT SEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is not only the best action movie of the year, but also one of my favorite movies of all time, Keanu Reeve's best movie of ALL TIME, but also now one of the best action movies of all time, and also one of the BEST MOVIES OF ALL TIME! IT IS SIMPLY A CLASSIC! And the movie was just released only 2 days ago!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! KEANU REEVES IS BACK, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN! One of the best actors of all time HAS MADE HIS AWESOME, PERFECT COMEBACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And now, time to give this PERFECT movie the score it SO RIGHTFULLY DESERVES: a SOLID 10 out of 10.
